RCC Offers Money Smart Class for Unemployed/Underemployed

ASHEBORO (December 20, 2006) –Randolph Community College will be offering a new Human Resources Development course on money management beginning in January. The Money Smart course is designed for those who are unemployed or underemployed. The registration deadline is Monday, Jan. 8.

The class will help students understand real-life economic concepts and economic ways of thinking that will enable them to make informed decisions related to their role as a member of the workforce. Topics covered in this course will include Learning About Banking Services, Understanding Credit, Methods for Saving Money, Preparing a Personal Budget, Consumer Rights and Responsibilities, Importance of a Credit History, and the Costs and Benefits of Using a Credit Card.

Money Smart will be offered on Tuesday and Thursdays, Jan. 9-Feb. 22, from 6-8 p.m. on the Archdale Campus and at the Archdale Off-Campus Center. A fee waiver is available to those who are unemployed and underemployed.
