Spot o’ Tea
On Nov. 22, the British Literature class (English 242), taught by English instructor Melinda Lamb, enjoyed a “spot o’ tea” party to experience what all the characters from “Pride and Prejudice” to “Pygmalion” had been enjoying throughout the plays and novels in the course. Their guide to English tea was Michael Nutt, chef at Pinewood Country Club and a native of England. He lectured on the history of tea from China to India to England and then served a delightful “high” tea with scones, biscuits (American cookies), cucumber sandwiches, cream cheese/crab sandwiches, and more. Students participating included Shea Trotter, Krystal Hall, Tammy Rogers, Kelly Ward, Crystal Burton, Elizabeth Auler, Sarah Nutt and Lindsay Sharpe. Also attending the tea were Danielle Richardson, Carol Savchak
and Sue Shelton.
