RANDOLPH COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND RANDOLPH COUNTY JOBLINK LAUNCH THEIR CAREER READINESS CERTIFICATION PROGRAM IN RANDOLPH COUNTY
Official launch on August 10, 2006 at AVS Banquet Centre.
ASHEBORO (July 25, 2006)- Randolph Community College (RCC) and Randolph County JobLink are excited to announce the launch of the Career Readiness Certification with a kick-off event on August 10, 2006 from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at AVS Banquet Centre, 2045 North Fayetteville Street.
The Career Readiness Certification is an important tool to document work skills employees and job seekers have and those skills employers want. The Certification qualifies the skills of the workforce and provides the means for employers to hire, train and promote the most qualified workers.
Speakers will share perspectives on the significant impact the Career Readiness Certification will have on the workforce and economic development in Randolph County. Those speakers include: Roger Shackleford, executive director of the Governor’s Commission on Workforce Development; Dr. Larry Keen, vice president for Workforce and Economic Development, NC Community College System; Keith Norwood, chairman of Regional Partnership Workforce Development Board and human resources manager of Armacell Incorporated, Alamance County; Bernadette Young, human resources manager, Energizer; Glynis Greene, training manager, Technimark; Bonnie Renfro, president, Randolph County Economic Development Corporation.
In addition to recording valuable work skills, the Career Readiness Certification can help with the following:

•Increase the opportunities to be hired, retained and promoted
•Improve skills and flexibility to meet the demands of the changing workplace.
