Academic Excellence Award
The North Carolina Community College Academic Excellence Award is presented to two recipients from each community college at an awards luncheon and ceremony in Raleigh on April 27. Attendees of the luncheon include the recipients and their guest, various representatives from the colleges, including the presidents and the state legislators. The event provides the Community College System an opportunity to showcase students and their academic achievements, as well as highlight the work that each of the community colleges do.
The selection criteria we used at RCC to identify potential award recipients is: Minimum of 32 hours completed in a degree seeking program, 4.0 GPA and currently enrolled full time. The list of potential award recipients was sent to the faculty department chairs for the faculty's recommendations. The award recipients were then chosen based on the recommendations received from the faculty.
Agus Junaedi and Mindy D. Graves are the 2006 Academic Excellence Awards recipients.
Agus is a second-year student in the Advertising and Graphics program. Mindy is working on two degrees, Associate in Arts (College Transfer) and Office Systems Technology. Congratulations!
