Presidential Scholar Checklist
Follow the instructions below to meet the application requirements for RCC’s Presidential Scholar program. All materials in the application packet are due in the RCC Foundation office no later than 3 p.m. on Feb. 17, 2012.
Randolph Community College and the RCC Foundation invite high school seniors from Randolph County public, private, and home schools to apply to RCC’s Presidential Scholars program. To be considered, a student must
• Plan to enroll at RCC in the fall of 2012
• Have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.0 after fall semester 2011
• Participate in extracurricular/community activities
• Submit the application packet no later than 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012
RCC’s Presidential Scholar application packet includes
1. RCC’s Application for Admission
Visit http://www.randolph.edu/admissions/apply_now.php and follow the link in item #1 to complete RCC’s application for admission online. Complete this step early so that your application will be on record at RCC by Feb. 17
2. Presidential Scholar Application
Follow this link to access the Presidential Scholar application. Print and complete the application.
3. Presidential Scholar Reference Form (two references)
Follow this link to access the Presidential Scholar reference form. Print two copies and ask two people who know you well to complete them. Write your name in the blank at the top of each form. Your references may be completed by teachers, coaches, club advisors, supervisors, clergy, etc. Give the forms to your references early so they have plenty of time to meet the deadline. The people completing your references will submit the completed forms directly to the RCC Foundation. They will not return the forms to you.
Follow this link to print and complete the high school transcript request form. Please note, transcripts will not be shared between RCC’s admissions office and the RCC Foundation. For admission to RCC, you also will need to complete the transcript request form available from the “RCC Enrollment Checklist” on RCC’s website.
The entire Presidential Scholar application packet is due in the RCC Foundation office (located in the Foundation Conference Center by the JB Davis Bell & Clock Tower) no later than 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012. Either drop off your materials at the Foundation office or mail to RCC Foundation, P. O. Box 1009, Asheboro, NC 27204-1009. If mailing, allow time for delivery so your materials are received by the deadline.
