In accordance with Randolph Community College’s strategic plan, the Interior Design Department is pleased to present a design initiative for the county that will actively promote the college in the community, support the success of its students, and establish community partnerships.

The Randolph County design proposal will offer free of charge design solutions to county residents or business owners. Solutions will be offered for both residential and nonresidential interior spaces.

SCOPE OF SERVICES TO INCLUDE:

· Conduct a project analysis which includes a field survey to determine design needs and goals.

· Provide a design concept statement.

· Present floor plans and elevations to show design development.

· Create space planning options.

· Specify furnishings, fabric, equipment, and materials.

· Supply a lighting plan with reflected ceiling plan.

· Offer working drawing for built-ins, cash wraps, reception desks, and other custom furnishings.

· Provide product information for purchasing purposes.

· Communicate the elements of the design to the client using color rendered presentational drawings.

ELIGIBLILITY:

You must be a property owner in Randolph County. You must be available to meet with the students on a frequent basis and grant access to the site for project analysis between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. during the months of August-December.

The existing or proposed project space must be a minimum of 2,000 finished square feet.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Upon selection you will be notified by the Design Department by June 1st. Please no calls regarding your status. Selections will be based on a collaboration of design instructors and students, design need, and parameter of class content.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

The complete application must be postmarked no later than May 1st. Final student design presentations are the first week in December.
