ASHEBORO (May 17, 2017)
Waymon Martin, Randolph Community College Business Administration department head who is retiring June 1, gave the graduation address, and Amber Mashburn was the student speaker at RCC’s College and Career Readiness graduation held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, at the R. Alton Cox Learning Resources Center auditorium on the Asheboro Campus.

Eight students participated in Thursday’s ceremony out of 29 High School Equivalency graduates and one Adult High School Diploma graduate who were eligible.
Dr. Robert Shackleford Jr., RCC president, gave the welcome. Elbert Lassiter, vice president for workforce development and continuing education, and Sandra J. Hartz, director of adult basic education, ESOL and adult high school, presented the candidates for graduation. The conferring of the diplomas was handled by F. Mac Sherrill, chairman of the RCC Board of Trustees.
Serving as faculty marshals were Melissa Woodell, lead instructor, and Shirley McLain, Adult Basic Education instructor.
