RCC ServSafe Class for Restaurant Workers Set for March 16

ASHEBORO (February 22, 2017)

Randolph Community College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division will offer a one-day ServSafe course in March. The class will meet from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, in Room 117 of the Continuing Education and Industrial Center on the Asheboro Campus. Registration is $70, plus $89.61 for a textbook.

RCC Student Leadership Team Helps Plan Job Fair for Feb. 21

A team of students from Randolph Community College’s 10th annual Fountain-Luria Student Leadership Academy is working with RCC employees from the Southeast Economic and Education Leadership Consortium (SEELC) to host a Job Fair from 12-4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the JB and Claire Davis Corporate Training Center within the Continuing Education and Industrial Center on the Asheboro Campus. The Job Fair is open to the public.

“Discover Your Genealogy” Course to start March 14 at RCC

ASHEBORO (February 3, 2017)

Randolph Community College is offering a new course designed to provide students with the skills to research their ancestors and build their family trees. In “Discover Your Genealogy,” students will advance their researching skills through internet databases and historical documents. This is an introductory course teaching terminology and techniques designed to start students in discovering their family histories.

Fundamentals of Drawing and Cartooning Course to start Jan. 31 at RCC

Randolph Community College is offering a new course for would-be artists beginning this month. “Fundamentals of Drawing and Cartooning” introduces the basics of drawing and creating caricatures and cartoon characters. RCC Courses Beginning in January Include Auto Body Repair, Electrical Tech, and Pharmacy Tech Training

Randolph Community College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division will offer training for a variety of occupations in January, with three classes beginning Monday, Jan. 23. Those courses are Auto Body Repair Basics, Basic Electrical Technician I, and Pharmacy Technician.

RCC Foundation Seeks Applicants for Presidential Scholar Program; Deadline is Feb. 17

ASHEBORO (January 5, 2017)

The Randolph Community College Foundation will award two-year RCC scholarships to five high school seniors in Randolph County in 2017 through its Presidential Scholar program. The students will be chosen in a competitive process that includes an application packet and interviews, according to Joyce Wolford, director of foundation operations. This is the sixth year of the program.
