Understanding Generations Workshop Set for Feb. 15 at RCC

As a human resources professional or manager, do you struggle to understand employees of different or younger generations? Randolph Community College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division is offering a new course titled “Five Generations @Work: Attracting, Engaging and Retaining Young People” on Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Room 148 of the Continuing Education and Industrial Center on the Asheboro Campus.

RCC Honors Outstanding Faculty and Staff Member, Employee Years of Service at Spring Convocation

Randolph Community College honored Dolores Vargas-Benavides as its 2017 Excellence in Teaching award winner and Cathy D. Hefferin as the 2017 Staff Person of the Year during its Spring Convocation held Jan. 6 in the R. Alton Cox Learning Resources Center auditorium on the Asheboro Campus.

Fundamentals of Drawing and Cartooning Course to start Jan. 31 at RCC

ASHEBORO (January 13, 2017)

Randolph Community College is offering a new course for would-be artists beginning this month. “Fundamentals of Drawing and Cartooning” introduces the basics of drawing and creating caricatures and cartoon characters. The course will meet from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 31 – March 9, in Room 117 of the Continuing Education and Industrial Center on the Asheboro Campus.

RCC Courses Beginning in January Include Auto Body Repair, Electrical Tech, and Pharmacy Tech Training

ASHEBORO (January 11, 2017)

Randolph Community College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division will offer training for a variety of occupations in January, with three classes beginning Monday, Jan. 23. Those courses are Auto Body Repair Basics, Basic Electrical Technician I, and Pharmacy Technician.

RCC Foundation Seeks Applicants for Presidential Scholar Program; Deadline is Feb. 17

ASHEBORO (January 5, 2017)

The Randolph Community College Foundation will award two-year RCC scholarships to five high school seniors in Randolph County in 2017 through its Presidential Scholar program. The students will be chosen in a competitive process that includes an application packet and interviews, according to Joyce Wolford, director of foundation operations. This is the sixth year of the program.
