2018 Curriculum Graduation

PREPARATION FOR GRADUATION

PLEASE NOTE: March 30, 2018, is the deadline for 1) participating (walking) in the graduation ceremony on May 9, 2018, 2) having your name printed in the graduation program, and 3) ordering your cap and gown.

• If you plan to participate in the graduation ceremony, you may purchase your official cap and gown in the RCC Campus Store. The cost of the cap and gown will be $35 (includes tax) and may be purchased now until March 30. This must be paid at the time the order is placed.

• In order to participate in the ceremony, all graduates must wear graduation attire including an official cap and gown (failure to do so may result in not being allowed to participate in the ceremony). Please check with the Campus Store or view graduation pictures on RCC’s website for the specific color of our official cap and gown.

• Caps and gowns must be picked up in the Campus Store no later than 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018.

Students check in before the 2015 graduation ceremony

TIME:  GRADUATES REPORT PROMPTLY AT 5:45 p.m. for CHECK-IN (auxiliary gymnasium).  Graduates please enter the auxiliary gym (located behind the new gymnasium) via the main entrance.
GRADUATION CEREMONY WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 7 p.m. 

 

GUIDELINES FOR GRADUATION
Your cooperation in following these instructions will assure a successful graduation ceremony.

GRADUATE CHECK-IN

Each graduate is expected to report promptly at 5:45 p.m. (*dressed in their cap and gown) to the Asheboro High School auxiliary gym to check-in and to line up for the graduation ceremony. We do ask that family members and guests remain seated in the gymnasium and/or Performing Arts Center during graduate check-in.

**IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS A STUDENT TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR PICKING UP YOUR GRADUATION ATTIRE FROM THE CAMPUS BOOKSTORE PRIOR TO THE GRADUATION CEREMONY.** 

OFFICIAL DRESS
MEN:             We recommend wearing dark shoes, dark pants, white shirts and tie.
LADIES:         We recommend wearing dresses or dark pants and dark shoes.

**Please note that you are required to wear your cap and gown during the graduation ceremony.** 

PERSONAL ITEMS AND VALUABLES
Do not bring personal items to the graduation practice and ceremony such as purses, bags, cell phones, and cameras. We do not have a way to secure these items, and they cannot be carried with you during the graduation ceremony.

CAMPUS STORE SALES AT GRADUATION
The RCC Campus Store staff will be in the lobby of the AHS gym before the ceremony with last minute graduation gifts, flowers, and RCC apparel for sale. Please tell family members that purchases must be made with cash or check.

Additional graduation items can be ordered from Herff Jones such as graduation announcements and class rings. The RCC Campus Store also carries a variety of great graduation gifts including graduation and alumni T-shirts.

GRADUATE PHOTOS
Photo Specialties of Chapel Hill, N.C., will be photographing Randolph Community College graduates as they receive their diplomas. RCC has provided this company with graduate names, mailing addresses, and email addresses where available. Photo Specialties will email graduates a link to proofs of their graduation photo with ordering information. If an email address was not provided, proofs will be mailed.

FOOD AND DRINK
Please do not bring food or drink with you to the graduation check-in, line-up or ceremony. We recommend that you eat before you arrive.

ALL HOLDS ON STUDENT ACCOUNTS FOR UNPAID FEES AND DEBTS OWED TO RCC MUST BE PAID IN FULL PRIOR TO GRADUATION.

When Will You Receive Your Degree, Diploma, or Certificate?

If you complete ALL REQUIREMENTS in FALL 2017, you may pick up your degree, diploma, or certificate on or after Jan. 31, 2018, at the Welcome Center.  If you paid for shipping your degree, diploma, or certificate, it will be mailed to you on or after Jan. 31, 2018.

If you complete ALL REQUIREMENTS in SPRING 2018, you may pick up your degree, diploma, or certificate on or after May 31, 2018, at the Welcome Center.  If you paid for shipping your degree, diploma, or certificate, it will be mailed to you on or after May 31, 2018.

If you will be completing ALL REQUIREMENTS in SUMMER 2018, you may pick up your degree, diploma, or certificate on or after Aug. 31, 2018, at the Welcome Center.  If you paid for shipping your degree, diploma, or certificate, it will be mailed to you on or after Aug. 31, 2018.

**PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL NEED TO BRING A VALID PHOTO ID IN ORDER TO PICK UP YOUR DEGREE, DIPLOMA OR CERTIFICATE.**
