Registration Checklist

1. Complete Admissions Application
All students must complete an admissions application, even if you plan
to take only one class. If you are a former RCC student, but have been
out of school for one semester or longer, you must submit a new application
for admission. Your application should be completed and submitted to
RCC as soon as possible. A $5 application fee will be
charged for applications received after Wednesday, April 25, 2007.
2. Request Transcripts
Have transcripts sent directly to RCC from all high schools or colleges previously attended. If you have a GED, you will need to have your test scores and a transcript from the last school attended sent to RCC.
3. Take Placement Testing (if appropriate)
As soon as possible, you should contact the Admissions
Office at RCC to arrange a date for placement testing. This testing helps an advisor place you in the most appropriate math, reading, and grammar courses. It is not used to determine admission.
4. Complete Financial Aid Paperwork (if appropriate)
If you receive financial aid or are sponsored by a special agency, you
may have additional paperwork to complete. Contact the Financial
Aid or Admissions
Office for assistance. FAFSA must be completed on an annual basis.
5. Monday, May 14 - Attend Orientation (if you are a new student)
All new students must attend an orientation session
prior to registering. Orientations will be held on 8:30 am,10
am, and 11:30 am according to the following schedule, in the Learning
Resources Center on the Asheboro
Campus.
New Evening Students –Asheboro Campus–attend
orientation in the Learning Resources
Center auditorium on
May 14 at 2:30 pm, 4 pm, or 5:30 pm. After orientation,
someone will escort you to an advising session.
6. Monday, May 14 – Meet with
Your Faculty Advisor (if you have not already done
so)
All students must meet with a faculty advisor before registering for classes.
7. Monday, May 14 – Register & Pay Fees for Classes
All students must register and pay fees for classes between 9 a.m.
- 6:30 p.m., Monday - May14 in
the Student Services Center on the Asheboro Campus.
Registration
is not complete until fees are paid in the Business
Office.
Tuition must be paid by 6:30 p.m., Monday - May14.
8. Wednesday - May 16 – Begin Attending Classes
9. No late registration.
Student may not register for classes after Monday, May 14.
However, students already enrolled may
adjust their schedule Wednesday
& Thursday, May 16 &17.
10. If registering on Monday, May 14, tuition and fees
must be paid by the end of the business day May 14.
If you have a special situation, such as returning to RCC after an absence of one semester or more or planning to transfer credit(s) to another school where you are currently enrolled, you should contact the Admissions Office immediately.
