Your instructor may not use all of the items you see listed in the navigation column on the left side of your screen. But we will go over the main activities that you will probably encounter: Joining Discussion Groups, Submitting Assignments, and Taking Exams. In addition, we'll go over the basics of the Educator email system and getting help. If your instructor will be using any of the other activities, you will receive directions in your class.
Please
keep in mind that the diagram below looks slightly different than
your RCC courses. Some of the buttons are different. For example:
RCC's navigational column has an EMAIL
button while this diagram's is called MAILBOX
Clicking
on a button in the navigation column causes that course section to
load on the course desktop which is the content area. At this time,
the document you are reading is on the desktop. If you click on
another link, this area will display the new page.

Under the ANNOUNCEMENTS area you'll find quick links to tools, email alerts and even navigation to any other courses you may be enrolled in. There is a help center that will answer questions for you later as you are taking the course. The help center is located at the bottom of every page in the course. It is entitled:

SYLLABUS
You can view a sample syllabus by clicking on the SYLLABUS button on the navigational tool bar. Begin viewing course components by clicking on the COURSE MATERIALS button on the navigational tool bar. Then click on the packet you wish to review.
