Account Information I've lost my password or username. Where can I find out what it is? Where do I update my account information? What is the difference between a reply and a subthread on the discussion board? I've submitted an assignment successfully, but it hasn't been graded. I emailed my instructor. Visit our Virtual Campus website, www.virtualrandolph.org Click on "Login to Your Current Course(s)," Under the login box, click on "Lost your Username or Password," Fill out the account information and click on "Validate Your Account," Your Username and Password will appear. Where do I update my account information? Visit our Virtual Campus website, www.virtualrandolph.org Click on "Account Services," Click on "Edit Your Online Account," Verify your account information then click "Look Up Account," Click on "Edit Information" When you are finished, click "Save Information." If you need to correct your social security number, e-mail support@virtualrandolph.org or contact the Distance Education Department at RCC. NOTE: To change your first or last name in Educator, you must modify your profile in EACH course. To modify your profile, click on "Grades/Profile" Click "modify profile" Enter your correct information Scroll to the bottom and select "Re-create profile" How do I get started in the class? Read the announcements, the syllabus, and complete the "Initial Entry Worksheet." Your instructor should have directions in the announcements on how to get started beyond this point. Assignment due dates can usually be found in the following locations: the actual assignment and the course syllabus. If you are still unable to locate the assignment due date, please e-mail your instructor. How do I send an e-mail within my course? Select "E-mail" on the navigational tool bar on the left of your screen, Select "Send Message" form the sub-menu that will open up under Email (on the navigational tool bar on the left of your screen), Select the check box(es) next to your instructors' names(s) (in the "TO" column), Type your email subject into the subject line. In the message box, type your message, Proof your information, makes changes if necessary. When your information is correct, scroll down and click on the "Send Mail" button to deliver your message. Can I submit an assignment late? Ask your instructor. Accepting late assignments is at the discretion of the instructor. (You may be able to find your instructors policy on late assignments in the course syllabus.) Ask your instructor. Resetting tests are at the discretion of the instructor. Contact your instructor. It is recommended to contact them through e-mail. This provides a paper trail in case there are future discrepancies. What is the difference between a reply and a subthread on the discussion board? A reply is made to a New Message only on the discussion board.

If your instructor has not responded within 48 hours, visit Distance Education: Student Grievance Policy. My browser will not display the course pages properly. It is recommended that students and faculty download and install a replacement browser based on a current version of Mozilla, Firefox, or Opera. Technical support is not provided by RCC for any other browser. After updating your browser, try viewing the course pages again. If the problem persists, e-mail technical support. If you can not pull up the Educator menu to e-mail technical support, email support@virtualrandolph.org. If you are a dial-up internet user, you may experience connection timeouts. To avoid untimely disrupts during tests you may try leaving an email application open during the tests. Email applications periodically refresh when checking for incoming mail--this usually prevents internet connection timeouts. I cannot access the assigned discussion boards. The pop-up blocker option on your web browser is most likely set to block pop-ups. You can change this feature by clicking on tools->options->content and deselecting the "Block Popup Windows" text box. The directions for changing this feature may be different based on your version of the web browser. If you have problems in completing the task, please email support@virtualrandolph.org for assistance. When I try to contact my instructor for an Instant Message why do they not respond? Part of the beauty of distance learning, is that everyone (students/instructors) can do it in the comfort of their own homes. If you do not get a response to an instant message, it would be safe to assume that the instructor has walked away from their computer. You can try again later, or just e-mail them. How do I install plug-ins for my browser? If you are using Mozilla Firefox, navigate to the appropriate website, find the program and click download. You will see a popup box asking you to open or save the program. Choose to save the program on your personal computer. On your personal computer, navigate to where you saved the program and double click on the installation icon. You can complete the installation by following the prompts. How should I configure my browser? Make sure that your browser is set to accept cookies and to allow popups. To set the Mozilla Firefox browser to accept cookies, click on Tools -> Option -> Privacy -> Cookies and place a check in the box beside "Allow site to set Cookies." To set the Internet Explorer browser to accept cookies, click on Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy -> Advanced and place a check in the box beside "Accept" under First-party Cookies. To set the Mozilla Firefox browser to allow Popups, click on Tools -> Options -> Content and make sure the box is unchecked beside "Block Popup Windows." To set the Internet Explorer browser to allow Popups, click on Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy and make sure the box in unchecked beside "Block pop-ups." How do I clear my browser cache? You can clear the cache on most browsers by clicking on tools -> options -> privacy ->cache. You should see a clear cache now button. If you are using internet explorer, the best method of clearing the cache is to click on tools -> internet options and delete temporary files, cookies, and the history. Some of the course content is not showing? Send a technical support request by click on "Technical Support" on the navigational toolbar within your Educator course. Please give a detailed description in regards to the nature of the problem.
