Small Engine Mechanic I

($175 + $1.25 fee)
This course will provide an introduction to the parts and operation of small gasoline engines such as those used on weed eaters, blowers, mowers, small tractors and garden tillers. Students will learn the basics of carburetions, ignition, tune-up, minor repair and troubleshooting.

Diesel Engine Repair

($175 + $1.25 fee)
This is the first course in our power equipment certification program and gives the student hands-on rebuilding techniques on four-cycle diesel engines to manufacturers specifications. Engines will be completely disassembled and checked for manufacturers specifications and reassembled. Emphasis will be placed on engines used in power equipment up to 510 horsepower. Emphasis will be placed on the proper use of special tools and test equipment. Alternative fules combined with petroleum diesel will be introduced, including hybrids.

Small Engines: Out of Storage

($65 + $1.25)
This course will provide an introduction to the steps needed to remove engine-powered units from storage and into service whether it is a new engine or used power equipment that that been out of service. Engines are those used on push mowers, riding mowers, small tractors, garden tillers, blowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, etc.
