Human Resources Development Program

The HRD program provides employment training, counseling, and assistance to prepare individuals for entry or reentry into the workforce.

Courses are available to help individuals explore their career options, receive career planning and educational counseling, as well as build job search strategies and interviewing techniques.

This program also offers introductory computer skills classes where students learn to utilize the computer to gain employment information.

HRD courses are fee-waived (FREE) to those who are unemployed, have been notified of impending layoff, or meet eligibility requirements.

Employability Success

($175)
This course provides employability skills training for adults who are unemployed or who are seeking to change their career. This course is located on the main campus in room AE123, in the Joblink Career Center. It is intended to be an open-entry, open-exit lab setting and is self-paced. An instructor is available to assist students and guide through course topics. Topics covered in this course include resume writing, interviewing skills, applications, assessments of persons' interests and skills, development of decision making skills, problem solving, development of communication skills, computer literacy skills and career readiness certification, as well as other job readiness skills.

Mission Employment: WIN for CRC

($120)
This course provides employability skills training for unemployed and underemployed. The objective is to provide an instructor-facilitated learning environment using the WIN software and curriculum to improve the individuals’ skills of the WorkKeys assessment in the three areas required to obtain the Career Readiness Certificate. Those three areas are Reading for Information, Locating Information, and Applied Math. WIN stands for Worldwide Interactive Network, which was created in 1996 with a vision to create and integrate learning technologies for enhanced educational opportunities in America. This hybrid course will be held both on campus and online.

Skills for Success

($120)
This course provides a plan for success in either work or school environments. By teaching the concepts for successs and progression, the student will develop a positive self concept, employability skills to ensure progression, effective communication techniques, problem solving and decision making skills, and an awareness of the impact of information technology in the workplace. Through goal setting and achievement, note taking and test taking strategies, reducing test anxiety, building study skills, managing stress, developing time management techniques, the student will be better prepared for employment, retraining opportunities, or advancement in the workplace.
