Become a Mentor

YOU have the skills and experience to help another become more successful. Help mentor a Randolph Community College student today!

You can help another person with a gift of your time, advice, and experience.

Many RCC students would benefit greatly from a mentoring relationship. A mentor can assist students in developing professional skills and furthering their careers by sharing information, experience, and encouragement. You can help nurture students’ success through

• sharing professional experience
• introducing financial resource opportunities
• providing career advice
• refining or creating a resume
• exploring professional/career development interests
• assisting in self-assessment
• sharing habits that make up a successful work ethic
• interview coaching

As a mentor, you will
• receive training in career exploration, planning and development as well as guiding students under stress
• decide with your mentee on the frequency of meeting. You won’t be “on call” but will meet (either by e-mail or in person) with your mentee on the schedule that works best for the two of you.
