Basic Skills Programs
General Educational Development (GED)/GED Testing
The GED® program is designed for students preparing to take the GED Tests (High School Equivalency Exam). Instructors work with students in planning a program of study to meet individual needs and goals. Students work at their own pace. These classes are free. Books are provided for classroom use.
RCC is approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and by the American Council on Education® as a testing center for the General Educational Development Tests. The GED testing center accommodates candidates with special learning disabilities. The fee for testing is $25. To make an appointment for the orientation class and placement testing, call RCC's Basic Skills programs at the Asheboro Campus, (336) 633-0106, or call the Archdale Center, (336) 862-7980.
