Compensatory Education
The Compensatory Education program is designed to provide developmentally disabled students with the basic skills and prevocational training necessary to attain a level of independence and self-sufficiency.
The curriculum used as a basis for instruction was developed specifically for the program and is continually updated to be applicable and current. The curriculum covers reading, language arts, math, science, social studies, and community living skills. In addition to academic studies, RCC students also receive vocational training in horticulture/floriculture, sewing, and job exploration.
Admission to this program is open to anyone age 17 or older with a diagnosis of an intellectual disability or is functioning at a level of mental retardation.
