Student Support Services

The Student Support Services (SSS) Program is one of six Federal TRIO Programs that provides educational outreach assistance to students from disadvantaged backgrounds (first-generation, low-income and disabled). SSS has been in existence since 1968 and has been on the campus of RCC for over (20) twenty years. There are approximately 959 federally funded projects in the county serving over 200 million students. “The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.” U.S. Department of Education Web Sites; www.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ope/trio/index.html.
