DFT - Drafting

All courses are alphabetized by course code. All courses are to be pursued in a normal sequence with prerequisite courses taken as indicated. Provided for each course is the following information: course number and title; number of class, laboratory, clinical/shop/work experience (if any), and credit hours; and the semester in which the course is offered - FA (Fall), SP (Spring), and SU (Summer).

DFT 119 Basic CAD (1 2 0 2)

This course introduces computer-aided drafting software for specific technologies to non-drafting majors. Emphasis is placed on understanding the software command structure and drafting standards for specific technical fields. Upon completion, students should be able to create and plot basic drawings. (SP).

DFT 170 Engineering Graphics (2 2 3)

This course introduces basic engineering graphics skills and applications. Topics include sketching, selection and use of current methods and tools, and the use of engineering graphics applications. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of basic engineering graphics principles and practices. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement. This course has been approved for transfer under the ICAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement. (SP).
