General Description
You have the opportunity to learn Spanish the best possible way... by being there!
Join us in beautiful Costa Rica from
June 7 - July 7, 2008.
Cost: (excluding lunch and individual travel outside of scheduled excursions).

Early Bird: Pay $200 before January 1 and receive a $100 discount off of total cost.
Objectives
- This immersion course will provide a sound basis for learning Spanish as it is spoken in a Spanish-speaking country.
- By the end of the course, students will have improved their spoken and written fluency.
- Students will have gained an understanding of the Spanish culture and every day life.
- The host family’s culture, way of life, and interpersonal relationships.
- Practice is provided in the skills of speaking, listening comprehension, reading and composition.
- Learn Environmental Biology with Lab work in the ecosystems of Costa Rica.
During Stay
- Officially enrolled in Costa Rican Language Academy (CRLA) for June.
- Lodging with native speakers of Spanish.
- Regular daily attendance in classes at the immersion institute. Any absence must be pre-approved by the instructor. More than two absences during the month could result in failing grade (one absence/two week program).
- Fulfill homework assignments from immersion classes.
- Individual meeting with instructor in Spanish to discuss progress.
- Participate in at least 3 of the cultural excursions planned by CRLA.
- Attend group get-togethers planned by RCC instructor.
- Take and pass final examination at CRLA.

- Round trip airfare from Charlotte, NC to San Jose, Costa Rica
- Transportation from and to the airport in Costa Rica
- Lodging with Costa Rican Family (two students per house)
